About HADCEA

Ecashia is our SRE co-ordinator, who looks after HADCEA’s amazing team of teachers and volunteers, marshalling their diverse gifts to build God’s kingdom together. She worships at Hillsong Macquarie.

“I love teaching SRE because it is life-changing work – for students and for me. It is everyday opportunities to see God in action as He uses our words to bring life, encourage change, speak truth, reveal wisdom and sow love into students’ hearts. I love that I get to do this in the formative teenage years for many students – helping them build a Christian worldview that leads to abundant life. I’ve seen lightbulb moments in students connecting truth and gaining insights and answers for personal life application. I’ve also watched God use our team of teachers /volunteers to bring light into our school communities, through effective building of relationships and bringing a Christian presence in our weekly interactions.

My family of 5 is made up of hubby and I, 2 teenagers and a preteen. Our weekends are a divine juggle of church and sports. We love making time for each other – prioritising eating together, talking about God and life, chilling out over a movie or boardgame and sharing snacks. Much of my spare time is around family. I love to cook, write and create, take naps, go on walks and enjoy a hot cup of tea.”

Ryan teaches at both Hornsby and Asquith High Schools. He worships at Bridgewater Baptist Church.

“I love being the first point of contact for the gospel to kids and families who are often overlooked – we assume that Christianity is prevalent in our community when in reality there are many who have yet to hear Jesus, even for the first time.

I love good coffee, sitting in cafes, and a lot of reading.”

Andre teaches at both Hornsby and Asquith High Schools. He worships at Bridgewater Baptist Church.

"I love teaching SRE because I get to see young people open up and start exploring what a relationship with God is and if God is real or not. They ask all the hard questions and I get to be there for the students, just like my own SRE teacher did for me.

We have had someone from our Year 7 class come from a non-Christian background, started asking questions and engaging more and more, and has started to come to youth group.  My sister and I came to faith through SRE and youth group and want to give it back and serve God in this area. In my spare time, I teach in other high schools, drive trucks, and hang out with mates.”

Ali teaches as both Hornsby and Asquith High Schools. She worships at Bridgewater Baptist Church.

“I love teaching SRE because you can truly see how God moves and this is especially dear to my heart because it is how I came to faith. I love the curiosity of the students and how you can watch them go from not caring, to questioning, and actually starting to grow confidence in God. In my spare time when I'm not studying or teaching, I love baking, running and reading.”

Rola teaches at Asquith High School. She worships at C3 Church Hornsby.

“As a passionate educator with a background in teaching and a love for people, I bring warmth, clarity, and purpose to my role as a volunteer Special Religious Education (SRE) teacher in NSW. With over eight years of experience as a lecturer and a heart for service, I am committed to engaging students with meaningful lessons that nurture faith, values, and character.

Since migrating to Australia, I’ve embraced the richness of its multicultural communities and continue to seek ways to make a positive impact—especially among young people. I believe in creating a welcoming, respectful classroom where students feel safe to ask questions, explore spiritual truths, and grow in understanding.

Outside of teaching, I’m deeply interested in financial literacy and community development, and I’m committed to helping young people grow holistically—academically, spiritually, and socially, while living out my own faith with authenticity.”
