About HADCEA
About HADCEA
Hornsby & Asquith District Christian Education Association (HADCEA) was founded in 1987 with the purpose of providing Special Religious Education classes (formerly known as Scripture) at Hornsby and Asquith High Schools.
Our ministry is to recruit and support SRE teaching staff to faithfully teach Jesus in SRE classes, organise lunchtime groups at schools, and connect students to local youth groups where they can learn about Jesus further.
We are represented by 15 churches in the local area, who uphold this ministry in prayer, send church members to serve in our committee, and raise financial support for our teachers.
HADCEA is a subcommittee of Scripture Union Australia who ensure that our teachers comply with the highest standards of teaching and conduct set by our Approved Providers and the Department of Education.
Our curriculum
Our teachers teach from the Explore curriculum, which is approved by SU Australia and is publicly available at https://www.exploresre.au/

Our staff
All of our staff are required to have up-to-date Working With Children Checks and Safe Ministry Training conducted by our Approved Providers.

Our Committee
Our committee consists of representatives from St Luke’s Hornsby Heights, Asquith Church of Christ, St Patrick’s Asquith, Berowra Uniting Church, St Mark’s Berowra, CrossLife Church Asquith and Northern Life Church in Hornsby.
We are a not-for-profit that prays and fundraises for our teachers, negotiates timetabling with the schools, and communicates what God is doing in HADCEA to our local Christian community.
